This operation took place shortly after an unidentified group of arsonists attacked a Police Divisional Headquarters in Neni, Anaocha Local Government Area.
The spokesperson for the Police in Anambra, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed this development in Awka on Saturday.
According to Ikenga, the joint forces operation, led by the Police, was launched as part of a larger effort to apprehend the attackers.
During the raid, six Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) that were intended for future attacks, as well as two Walkie Talkies, were discovered and seized from the camps.
The ongoing operation aims to search the forests for insurgents and their camps, with the objective of eliminating the terrorists, rescuing abducted victims, and recovering firearms and stolen vehicles that may be in their possession.
On March 29, the joint security force raided the forests of Ogbunka in Orumba South and discovered multiple scattered camps belonging to the insurgents.
These camps were subsequently destroyed to prevent the insurgents from using them as bases for launching attacks.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Aderemi Adeoye, has assured the public of adequate security measures and extended his wishes for a happy Easter.
He also urged citizens to collaborate with the Police by providing information about the hideouts of insurgents who are working to destabilize the state.
Adeoye emphasized that the Police will protect the identities of informants to ensure their safety.
He concluded by expressing his hope that the peace of Christ will prevail throughout the state.
