On August 12, the court will issue a ruling in the Rivers APC crisis, which has been a significant point of contention within the party.
On Monday, August 12th, 2024, the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt is scheduled to make a decision regarding a legal case brought forth by selected officials from the All Progressives Congress (APC), specifically those from state and local governments as well as ward executives.
The suit has been filed against both the national executive of APC and its seven-member Caretaker Committee based in Rivers State which operates under Tony Okocha’s leadership. Emeka Beke heads up this group challenging their party members’ actions through lawful channels.
Following the conclusion of arguments and final written submissions from counsel representing all parties during the last hearing, Justice Sika Aprioku presiding over the case has kept judgement on hold with a communication to be made within 48 hours.
