Court Restrains IGP from Arresting Kano Anti-Graft Agency Boss
A court has issued an order preventing the Inspector General of Police (IGP) from arresting the head of Kano’s Anti-Graft Agency amid ongoing legal battles.
A High Court in Kano, under the jurisdiction of Justice Sunusi Ado Ma’aji, has issued an interim order preventing the Inspector General of Police and police authorities from inviting, arresting, or harassing the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.
The lawsuit is being brought by the Kano State Attorney General, the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, and Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado.
The defendants include the Nigerian Police Force, the Inspector General of Police, AIG Zone One, Kano Commissioner of Police, ASP Ahmed Bello, and Bala Muhammad Inuwa.
The order was approved on Monday.
