Court orders vandal’s execution by hanging, accomplice gets 16 years in prison

On Tuesday, a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja condemned vandal Clement Ododomu to death by hanging and Tiwei Monday to sixteen years in prison.

On October 11, 2023, Judge Hakeem Oshodi rendered a verdict finding Ododomu and Monday guilty on conspiracy and murder charges.

On Tuesday, Justice Oshodi delivered the verdict, finding that the evidence submitted to the court and the convicts’ actions, which he called “unremorseful,” had resulted in a deserved sentence.

The defendants, vandals, were accused of killing seven police officers from the State Department in the state’s Ikorodu region.

“The court has considered the defence counsel’s argument, but the law’s position is binding on all of us,” the judge declared. The first defendant was found guilty on counts one, five, seven, nine, and ten, as was already mentioned, and the second defendant was found guilty on counts one and ten.
