Senator Samuel Anyanwu was ordered by a high court in the Abuja Federal Capital Territory to stop posing as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national secretary.
The order followed a lawsuit that sought an order of interlocutory injunction prohibiting the PDP from designating Anyanwu as the party’s national secretary until the outcome of the main lawsuit was known.
Douglas Nwachukwu is the complainant in the lawsuit designated FCT/HC/M/015/23, and the defendants are the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and Anyanwu, the PDP.
Anyanwu was prevented from impersonating the PDP National Secretary by Justice M.M. Adamu following his hearing of a move on notice from the applicant’s attorney, F. S. Jimba.
In addition, Adamu prohibited the PDP and INEC from appointing Anyanwu as National Secretary until the outcome of the substantive lawsuit was known.

He did, however, return to work on Tuesday at the party’s National Secretariat as the National Secretary.
Prior to this Saturday’s poll, the National Secretary of the party was called upon to quit, according to the DAILY POST.
