Court invalidates PDP candidate’s involvement in Ebonyi South by-election

In her decision, Justice Hyeladziya Ngajiwa confirmed that the PDP had not convened the requisite one-man and three-man national delegates who were expected to cast ballots in the primary election.
For this reason, the court mandated that Onu’s name be taken off from the INEC webpage right once.
In addition, the plaintiffs were ordered by the court to get a million naira each from Onu for misguiding the Party.
Onu, however, disapproved with the decision and insisted that the PDP submit a Notice of Appeal right away to guarantee the Party’s participation in the upcoming election.
“Even though we recognise that the ruling was fabricated and executed with political intent, we are proceeding with our notice of appeal right now to guarantee that we may lawfully carry on with our election participation. On Saturday, February 3, 2024, our followers are urged to cast their ballots for PDP in large numbers, he declared.
