Three farmers are being held in a correctional facility by a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, in connection with an alleged attempt to commit culpable homicide.
Wayo Ganson, Francis Ganga, and Monday Ganga are the farmers.
The three defendants, whose addresses were withheld, were charged by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Thursday for alleged crimes including criminal conspiracy, mischief, and attempt to cause culpable homicide.

Marcus Audu, the NSCDC prosecutor, said the court that on November 14, Zabiya Akawu and her son Jonah Akawu had brought up the issue at the Corps office in Kafanchan.
Audu claimed that the three accused broke into the complainant’s Bede home with cutlasses and sticks in hand, attacked her, and used a machete to mutilate her face.
He informed the court that when the complainant’s kid attempted to save his mother after hearing her scream, the accused individuals reportedly also attacked him and extracted five of his teeth.
The offences, in Audu’s opinion, violate the Kaduna State Penal Code Law’s sections 58, 313, and 199.
However, Samson Kwasu, the Chief Magistrate, turned down the accused parties’ plea due to a lack of jurisdiction.
Kwasu gave the prosecutor instructions to send duplicate case files to the State Director of Public Prosecution so they may get legal counsel.
He then postponed the issue until December 6 in order to discuss it further.
