Rashida Bishi and Bishi Adegboye’s Islamic marriage has been terminated by an Area Court in Ilorin owing to the purported unfaithfulness of the husband.

Judge Hammed Ajumonbi declared in his verdict that Adegboye’s letter signified his agreement to the divorce.

In accordance with Islamic customs, Rashida was instructed by Ajumonbi to observe a three-month iddah period after he dissolved their marriage.

Rashida was granted custody of the couple’s two children, and Adegboye was ordered by the court to pay N20,000 monthly for their upkeep. Moreover, he has been allowed unrestricted visitation rights as long as it is at an appropriate time.

Rashida had previously informed the court about her husband’s alleged philandering behavior and disregard for her.
