A court has dismissed the fundamental rights lawsuit filed by Bobrisky against the EFCC, ruling against the popular social media personality in the legal battle.

A Federal High Court in Lagos has rejected a fundamental rights lawsuit submitted by Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bobrisky requested N200 million from the EFCC for “psychotic trauma” and demanded N1 billion from the National Assembly, claiming a violation of his right to a fair hearing.

He also called on the court to prevent the EFCC and the National Assembly from “harassing, detaining, or declaring him wanted.”

Bobrisky has become the center of controversy following social media influencer Martins Otse’s leak of an audio recording, which claims that he paid N15 million to the EFCC in exchange for dropping money laundering charges against him.

In delivering the verdict on the case, Justice Alexander Owoeye ruled on November 28 that Bobrisky’s allegations of rights violations were unsubstantiated and unsupported by credible evidence.

Dele Oyewale, the spokesman for the EFCC, announced this in a statement on Friday.

“The judge ruled that, after reviewing the evidence presented by the Applicant, it is clear that credible evidence has not been provided to warrant granting the requested declaratory and injunctive reliefs.”

I believe that the affidavit evidence presented to this Court does not substantiate the claims of fundamental rights violations against the 1st and 2nd Respondents.

The Applicant’s claims against the 1st and 2nd Respondents are without merit and have therefore been dismissed.

Justice Owoeye also declined to grant damages against the EFCC.
