Mr Sunday Adewoye, a 45-year-old cleric, has been remanded by the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly raping a 22-year-old lady.

The court charged Adewoye with unlawful sexual penetration and rape, but his address was not provided.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, did not allow Adewoye to enter a plea, as he sought advice from the state director of public prosecutions.

Consequently, Adekomaiya ordered that the defendant be kept in a custodial facility until the advice is received.
