Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has been denied permission by a High Court in Maitama, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to travel to the United Kingdom (UK) for a follow-up medical check-up.
In Tuesday’s verdict, Justice Hamza Muazu affirmed that Emefiele did not present adequate proof to establish the necessity and inevitability of his medical journey.

Despite Emefiele’s assertion of having been invited to the UK for medical treatment, he failed to produce a court-admissible copy of said invitation.
Moreover, it was observed by the judge that Emefiele failed to demonstrate that his medical ailment could not receive treatment within Nigeria.
