Court confirms appointment of Gov Fubara’s loyalist as Rivers Assembly Speaker

A Port Harcourt-based High Court has affirmed Edison Ehie’s legitimacy as the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Among the four legislators in Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s faction is Edison Ehie.

Following the crisis in the House of Assembly, Ehie was suspended, and his colleagues took over as leader of the House.

Additionally, the court has ordered that Martin Amaewhule and Dumle Maol not to appear or obstruct Rt. Hon. Edison Ogerenye Ehie, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The judge also cautioned against forcing entry into the Assembly Complex with the help of police officers and thugs.
