A court has issued a restraining order preventing the APC from conducting congresses in Rivers State, impacting the party’s activities and political strategy.
The National leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), headed by Abdullahi Umar-Ganduje and Secretary Surajudeen Ojibola-Basiru, have been prohibited from conducting Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses on October 11th, 16th,and 26th in an ex parte order granted by a Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.
Peter Ohochukwu and Haija Ndidi-Chukwuma, along with all elected executive members of the APC in their state, have filed a lawsuit against several defendants.

These include the APC itself, as well as the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Nigeria Police, and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
