Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, urgently needs ear surgery.
Aloy Ejimakor, the secessionist’s special counsel, announced this on Thursday night in a tweet from his official account.
The suggestion was made to Kanu by the Department of State Security Services’ (DSS) Medical Unit as a result of his growing health issue, the attorney claims.
Aloy said that Barr Mandela Umegborogu, one of his colleagues, was apprised of the incident when he paid Kanu a visit on Thursday at the DSS headquarters in Abuja.
“Today, my colleague, Barr Mandela Umegborogu visited Onyendu #MNK at the DSS,” says the post.
“He says Onyendu told me to inform the public that the DSS Medical Unit has advised urgent ear SURGERY for him,” I wrote.
But the official endorsement of the DSS leadership is still needed.
