The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has pledged that President Bola Tinubu’s administration will guarantee basic infrastructure for all districts within the nation’s capital.
On Wednesday in Abuja, Wike announced this during the inauguration ceremony for the construction of a 3.2-kilometer dual carriageway connecting Ahmadu Bello Way to Mabushi District.
The 3.2-kilometer road project includes the development of additional road networks within the district.
Wike mentioned that the President emphasized the need to establish infrastructure before creating new districts.

I want to make it clear today that we are committed to ensuring every district is connected by quality roads. This is crucial, as a well-maintained road network plays a key role in the tranquility of any city.
“For a city like Abuja, we must persist in supplying essential infrastructure, such as an efficient road network, to ensure it remains a worthy city,” he stated.
He believes that the road network will boost economic activities in the district and alleviate the hardship faced by residents attempting to navigate around the city.
The minister stated that the project received approval from the Federal Executive Council and assured the contractor that sufficient budgetary provisions are in place to ensure its completion by May 2025.
He added that any project initiated under the Tinubu administration would be completed before the end of its term.
