In order to provide the public breathing room, the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, or CNPP, has urged President Bola Tinubu to curb instances of corruption and abuse of authority among ministers and other public personnel.
The CNPP listened to Tinubu’s New Year’s message and saw how Nigerians responded to all of the promises, the organisation claimed in an open letter to the President dated January 8 and made public in Lagos on Monday.

Oloye Adegboyega-Adeniji, the South-West CNPP Secretary General, signed the letter, which was headed “Reduce Corruption in Your Administration.”
Adegboyega-Adeniji assigned Tinubu the responsibility of remembering his years of hardship as an opposition leader and seasoned activist throughout Gen. Ibrahim Babangida’s transition period, which resulted in the annulment of the general elections on June 12, 1993.
Part of the letter said, “We members of the CNPP in the South West admonish you not to forget the years of battles to promote and sustain our embryonic democracy, in the presence of our national chairman, Alhaji Balarabe Musa of blessed memory.”
The head of the CNPP recommended the President to lead by example in reducing corruption and to order civil and public workers to resign from their positions until all investigations were completed.
