According to media sources, the Clintons are backing Biden, showcasing a united front within the Democratic Party ahead of the next election.

After a disastrous debate against Donald Trump last month, various Democratic Party veterans have advised the president to relinquish his position.

According to unnamed sources cited by NBC News and CNN, Joe Biden has received private support from Bill Clinton, the former US President, and his wife Hillary Clinton in his bid for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination on November 5. Despite facing opposition within his party ranks as more lawmakers and donors call for him to withdraw from the race for re-election at age 81.

Questions about Biden’s ability to run for a second term have surfaced after his flawed display in the CNN debate against primary contender, Donald Trump. In that heated meeting, Biden often got sidetracked during conversations and had issues recalling important information such as words and numbers. His sentences were frequently interrupted by pauses or hesitations too.

According to NBC News, two individuals who are “familiar with the Clintons’ thinking” stated on Saturday that the influential Democrats have expressed their backing for Biden’s choice to remain in the race during private conversations. They purportedly urged Democratic Party donors to continue supporting President Biden as well.

As per the media source, the Clintons have shown great respect towards their current head of state and expressed willingness to lend assistance in his campaign.

However, according to NBC News, the lack of public support from this couple highlights Biden’s increasing isolation within his own party.

On Saturday, CNN reported on the same matter and additionally mentioned two unnamed sources who used “deferential” to describe how the Clintons are positioned.

By Friday, according to NBC News’ estimation, congressional Democrats who oppose a Biden ticket had reached 35. Influential figures such as ex-President Barack Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have allegedly raised doubts about the current incumbent’s ability to win against Trump in November.

According to a poll released on Wednesday by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, approximately 66% of grassroots Democrats across America are requesting Biden to withdraw from the race.

Despite currently self-isolating after contracting Covid-19, the president has made a commitment to resume campaigning next week. He remains determined as he repeatedly emphasizes that dropping out of the race is not an option and asserts himself as the strongest Democratic contender capable of challenging Trump.

On Friday, NBC claimed that some Democrats’ lack of support for the president’s campaign has left him feeling “personally wounded” and “disillusioned.”
