Gael Clichy, a former defender for Manchester City, compared Kylian Mbappe, a forward for Paris Saint-Germain, to Thierry Henry, a legendary player for Arsenal, and declared that the 24-year-old would be game over if he signed for the Premier League winners.
Clichy was asked by Genting Casino to weigh in on where Mbappe might end up in the future.
Clichy said, when asked about his connections to Man City, “Mbappe going to Manchester City will be game over! He reminds me of Thierry Henry because he can score crucial goals at any time, possesses such charisma, and exudes such confidence.
“Since Thierry, I have not seen one with this much assurance. Although it would be fantastic if he joined City, the Premier competition is the toughest competition in the world.
Mbappe’s apparent preferred team appears to be Real Madrid, and that makes sense given their prominence and history, he continued. I don’t see him moving anyplace before Real Madrid if he departs PSG. Not Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, or Tottenham Hotspur.
“Due to Pep Guardiola’s impact as well as what City have accomplished over the past few years, I feel that City is the only Premier League club that might attract Kylian. City has the financial strength to preserve its standing. Real Madrid, meanwhile, is also capable of all of this. They might design a project with the gamer in mind.
The season will come to an end when Mbappe’s current PSG contract expires, and the France captain has not yet agreed to a new one.
