Clearing the air on Tinubu supporting Peter Obi’s presidential candidacy is Pat Utomi
The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, did not support the election of Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, according to political economist Pat Utomi.
In the run-up to the general elections in 2023, Tinubu allegedly persuaded Utomi to resign in favor of Peter Obi, according to Tawfiq Akinwale, an LP candidate in Oyo State.
Utomi, however, referred to the accusation as false information against him.
Utomi tweeted: “Truly, if any flow from BAT came to me, I would instantly withdraw money I paid to an international PR firm in 2007 at his insistence for an Orange revolution-type effort to block the third term, but it was not repaid.
“The book I wrote four years ago has details. My financial flow would have benefited from it.
“With regard to funding PO, I’m in awe of this misinformation.
“I even turned to ODs to fund my own activities in support of the campaign for faith in saving Nigeria because the outpouring of resources from citizens in support groups and PO’s prudent draw on his own purse was so humbling.”
