The FCT Police Command has provided additional information regarding the incident that occurred at Banex Plaza in Abuja.
As previously reported, chaos erupted at the popular phone market when a clash broke out between hoodlums and military personnel.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, explained that the altercation began when a man named Suleiman Ahmed, who had purchased a faulty phone from a shop owner named Suleiman Ibrahim, brought four soldiers with him to request a replacement.
However, the shop owner resisted, leading to a confrontation between the two parties.

This confrontation then escalated, resulting in a commotion and the involvement of irate mobs in the market who attacked the military personnel.
In response to the incident, all parties involved were summoned for questioning, and the military personnel have been handed over to their organization for appropriate action to be taken.
While peace has been restored in Banex and its surrounding areas, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, has urged residents to continue their lawful activities without fear.
