Chief Edwin Clark, a former federal information commissioner and leader of the South-South, backed Peter Obi for president of the Labour Party on Tuesday.
Clark told reporters at his home in Asokoro, Abuja, that he thought the former governor of Anambra would help Nigeria become more united.

He emphasised that the South-East should be given the chance to produce the nation’s next president, and that the next president should be educated and experienced.
He said that the zone is full of smart, capable people who are able to lead the whole country.
