Clarification from Osinbajo on meeting with Tinubu

According to Osinbajo’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande, the purpose of the meeting between the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, was to share holiday greetings.

In a tweet that he sent on his verified account, Akande clarified this.

Remember how Osinbajo unexpectedly visited Tinubu on Wednesday in Abuja, stoking rumors that the nation’s second-ranking official, who lost the APC presidential primary to the former governor of Lagos, was there to ask for “political forgiveness” for running against his former boss?

Osinbajo worked as Lagos State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice under Tinubu’s administration, according to PlatinumPost.

But when asked by the media and other politicians about the meeting, Akande said that nothing like that had happened.

“The Vice President paid Tinubu a pleasant visit at his home in Abuja.

The vice president and Asiwaju made small talk during the meeting in the festive spirit.

And in answer to questions from the media about whether this was a political gathering, he said, “No, it wasn’t.”

The two leaders’ meeting on Wednesday was their third since the APC presidential primaries in June.

Recall that Tinubu visited the vice president at his Aguda House in the Presidential Villa soon after the primaries.

In October, they met again at the Ministerial Retreat, which was also held at the Villa. Despite these meetings, Osinbajo has not taken part in any of Tinubu’s political activities.
