The former US president promised to protect West Jerusalem and subject all newcomers to ideological screening.

Former US President Donald Trump has vowed to cleanse America of immigrants and international students who support jihadists, denouncing Hamas as “monsters,” and characterising the Palestinian militant group’s confrontation with Israel as a struggle between “good and evil.”

Speaking on Saturday in Las Vegas at the Republican Jewish Coalition summit, Trump pledged that if reelected in 2024, he will put an end to the “mass importation of anti-Semitism” into the US. He held Hamas accountable for all of the killings that have taken place since the group’s strikes on Israeli villages on October 7th, which started the most recent conflict in the region. There have been over 1,400 dead in Israel and 8,000 in Gaza.

“Hamas bears the entire responsibility for every life lost in this conflict, and I believe Iran should be included as well,” stated Trump. “There is no room for compassion, justifications, or escape for these creatures. We shall take the necessary action.

Trump claimed that the Hamas strikes, which claimed hundreds of Israeli civilian lives or kidnapped many more, demonstrated that the group’s dispute with West Jerusalem is not one between “equal sides.” “This is a struggle between civilization and savagery, decency and depravity, and good and evil,” he continued. An organisation that worships death and one that values life and our country are incomparable.

In the 2024 election, Trump is predicted to be the front-runner among Republicans to challenge President Joe Biden, who will succeed him. He maintained that Biden had “turned a blind eye to the greatest outbreak of anti-Semitism in American history” following the Hamas attacks.

During the Israel-Hamas conflict, the former president bemoaned the “pro-jihadist” demonstrations taking place in big American cities and on college campuses. He accused the Biden administration of harbouring “colossal amounts of jihadists” who were admitted as foreign students or refugees. He declared, “They’re letting them in at levels that nobody has ever seen before.” “That cannot occur, and we do not wish to become like Europe, where there are jihadists everywhere we look.”

Shortly after assuming office in 2017, Trump imposed a travel ban that limited admission into the United States for citizens of seven mostly Muslim nations. He then pledged to reinstate the restriction. Additionally, he said that he would make sure that people who support Hamas are denied entry into the US and that he would deport foreign nationals who participated in pro-Hamas protests.

Trump informed the crowd, “I’ll be implementing strong ideological screenings for all immigrants coming in.” “We don’t want you in our country, and you won’t be getting into our country if you hate America, want to abolish Israel, and have sympathy for jihadists.”

According to Trump, foreign students who participated in the protests and supported Hamas will also have their study visas revoked. “We will locate you by 2025 and deport you.” In addition, he pledged to threaten academic institutions and federal funding termination as well as academic accreditation loss if they don’t “purge” “anti-Semitism and pro-terrorism” from their campuses.

Just as he had earlier asserted that he would have stopped the Russia-Ukraine crisis, Trump now claimed that the strikes on Israel would not have occurred if he had been president. He said, “You didn’t have any of these problems for four years.” “Considering that scenario, imagine a world without inflation, Israel being attacked, Ukraine, or anything else at all.”
