Christians have prayed for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections, to win.
The prayers were said on Wednesday in Lagos at the 2022 Christmas Carol at the Christ the Light Chapel, Alausa, Ikeja.
The state chapter of “Project Beyond Lagos” hosted the event with the theme, “A Gift that Impacts Through a Culture of Generosity and Great Vision.”
The event was open to people of all faiths, and the best gospel singers from Nigeria entertained the crowd with their catchy songs.
Hon. Anofiu Olarewaju-Elegushi, the event’s main host and Lagos State’s commissioner for home affairs, said that people in Lagos know how to have a good time.
Elegushi asked for people to keep praying for the victory of the ruling party’s candidates at all levels and characterized the Christmas season as a pleasant one.
“This is a time for congratulating one another.” It is required that we reach out to others in a kind and caring manner.
“We as a party have electable candidates who can improve the plight of Nigerians in the upcoming elections.”
“As a party, we’re urging everyone to take deliberate steps to ensure that the APC’s candidates succeed,” he said.
According to the church’s Presiding Chaplin, Ven. Ezekiel Oluwadare, Christians are in favor of Ahmed Tinubu.
The devout, according to Oluwadare, would keep praying for Tinubu and other APC candidates to win.
The preacher claimed that given the contributions Tinubu had made to churches all throughout the nation, it would be detrimental for Christians to turn their backs on him at this time.
He prayed for national tranquility so that individuals might conduct their work.
