Remi Tinubu, Bola Tinubu’s wife and the APC’s presidential candidate has alluded to a Christian-Christian ticket.
The APC Muslim-Muslim ticket, according to Mrs. Tinubu, will serve as a model for an all-Christian ticket after 2023.
She said this yesterday in Lagos at the APC South-West women’s presidential rally.
APC chose a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket despite widespread opposition from Nigerians.
As his running companion, Muslim from Southwest Tinubu selected Kashim Shettima, a former governor of Borno State.
Due to Tinubu’s decision, some notable APC members, including former House Speaker Yakubu Dogara, left the party for the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP.
Additionally, Babachir Lawal, a former secretary to the government of the federation, and a few Christians in the APC expressed their disapproval of Tinubu’s selection of Shettima as a running mate.
The Muslim-Muslim ticket, however, will set the tone for the future, Mrs. Tinubu stated while speaking at the gathering. We’ll introduce a ticket that is only for Christians in the future. It is amazing what God has accomplished in our nation.
“We appreciate your great turnout despite the difficulties. This is a second homecoming for me. God granted my husband’s election as governor about 23 years ago, and I served as his first wife.
“I want to express my gratitude to the residents of Lagos Central for choosing me to represent them. I am the first female senator to win three elections. I’ve been working since my husband’s resignation from office in 2007 for the welfare of our people, so this is a great opportunity.
