Under the direction of Commandant UI Alfadarai, the Abia State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has detained a Chinese national and one other individual in Umunneochi LGA on suspicion of running a quarry on property owned by a different business.

The original owner of the site, JINLOYS NIGERIA LIMITED, submitted a complaint alleging that Chinese people had illegally occupied his legally allotted site with licence Nos. 22284QL and 46404QLS without his agreement. This complaint led to the discovery and arrest of the Chinese, according to a statement released by the NSCDC.

He went on to say that the Chinese were supposedly mining and trading in chippings and other stones that they did not own.
