China Commits to Expanding Economic Cooperation With Nigeria
While praising Tinubu’s plan to lead Nigeria into a new period of economic development and prosperity, China’s envoy noted that Nigeria could profit from China in certain areas.
China’s President Xi Jinping has assured Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu of increased economic cooperation, citing Nigeria’s significance to Africa and the world.
Wednesday, according to a statement by the President’s media adviser, Tunde Rahman, the Chinese president spoke through his Special Envoy, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Peng Qinghua.
Qinghua, who met with Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, stated that the two countries currently enjoy excellent bilateral relations and economic cooperation, noting that Chinese companies are thriving in Nigeria in the railways, highways, hydroelectric, and free trade zones sectors.
