Chief Whip Ndume walks out of the extraordinary executive session of the Senate
On Tuesday, the Chief Whip, Senator Ali Ndume, angrily staged a walkout, worsening the tension in the nation’s upper chamber.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, abruptly called for an emergency closed session to prevent the issue from worsening.
In order to attract the Senate President’s attention to his management of business in the chambers, which was outside the rules, Ndume raised a point of order, citing order 54 of the Senate Rule Book.

“Mr. President, there are some things we do in this chamber that are not permitted,” he said. No one, sir, is too big to learn.
Ndume had barely finished speaking when Akpabio declared him to be out of order.
Then, Ndume, who was obviously furious, rushed out of the room and went directly to his office.
A colleague called the Chief Whip shortly after to ask him to come back to the chamber for an executive session.
The executive session was still going on when this report was filed.
