Festus Keyamo, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, responded to the Chicago State University’s, CSU’s, announcement of President Bola Tinubu’s academic achievements.

Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential contender for 2023, should, according to Keyamo, apologise to Tinubu and Nigerians for the humiliation.

The minister characterised Atiku’s trip to Chicago in an effort to discredit Tinubu as futile in a post on X.

According to Keyamo, “ATIKU’s journey to Chicago and back has been a journey to nowhere, a useless exercise, and an odyssey in self-humiliation, according to the comments by Chicago State University. He owes President Tinubu and the people of Nigeria an unqualified apology.

Tinubu’s academic records were made public by CSU in accordance with a Chicago court’s directive.

Following a thorough examination, CSU confirmed in the results that it had discovered three diplomas that matched the certificate Tinubu had submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Atiku won his acrimonious court battle to investigate Tinubu’s academic credentials for the February 25 presidential election.

In order to be eligible to vote in the election, Tinubu had given the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, certifications from Chicago State University, CSU.

A court in the United States of America ordered CSU to produce Tinubu’s academic transcripts on Saturday in order to verify them and support Atiku’s claim to have the results of the 2023 presidential election challenged.

In a ruling, Justice Nancy Maldonado explicitly directed the CSU to give Atiku access to his academic records while rejecting Tinubu’s objection to Atiku’s request.
