Erling Haaland scored his 50th Premier League goal to help Liverpool draw 1-1 with title challenger Manchester City, but Newcastle crushed miserable Chelsea 4-1 on Saturday thanks to a late equaliser from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Ten minutes into a heated summit meeting at the Etihad Stadium, Alexander-Arnold scored after it appeared that Haaland’s historic goal would extend City’s record home winning streak.

Those in charge City had won their previous 23 games at home in all competitions, but thanks to second-place Liverpool’s comeback, third-place Arsenal will take the lead if they win on Saturday night at Brentford.

In the 27th minute, Haaland scored his 50th goal in the competition in record time after converting a ball from Nathan Ake from just inside the box with a nice finish. It was his 48th appearance in the competition.

But after that, Alexander-Arnold made sure to punish Pep Guardiola’s team by hammering a shot into the bottom corner from the area’s edge and then celebrated by giving the City supporters a finger to his lips.

It’s not an easy place to be. We could have won today if we had played much better, but we didn’t. We did alright,” Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp stated.

“As things stand right now, we should consider the point won. I have nothing to be dissatisfied about.

“That performance was outstanding. The fact that we are still playing that way after eight years makes me very proud. We needed to be playing against an amazing squad because we were so good in every area, according to Guardiola.

Eddie Howe was forced to select three goalkeepers from among his substitutes at St. James’ Park due to Newcastle’s injuries.

However, sixth-place Newcastle overcame their fitness concerns to win back after losing to Borussia Dortmund and Bournemouth.

In the thirteenth minute, Alexander Isak of Newcastle scored the first goal after Lewis Miley’s ball.

Ten minutes later, Raheem Sterling of Chelsea tied the score with an incredible free kick, but an hour later, Jamaal Lascelles gave Newcastle the lead again with a header.

Furthermore, Thiago Silva was penalised by Joelinton in less than 60 seconds when the Chelsea defender mishandled Cole Palmer’s pass.

Chelsea’s right-back After Reece James was sent off for a second booking in the 73rd minute, Anthony Gordon’s goal 10 minutes later gave Newcastle the victory.

It was the most crushing loss of Pochettino’s first season in command and Chelsea’s second straight game in which they gave up four goals.

At Kenilworth Road, Luton, who are now in fourth place in the league, defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 to win their first-ever home league game.

Luton won it thanks to a goal from Jacob Brown in the 83rd minute, after Michael Olise of Palace cancelled out Teden Mengi’s first goal.

West Ham pulled off a stunning comeback to win 2-1, further exacerbating Burnley’s relegation worries.

Jay Rodriguez opened the score in the 49th minute with a penalty kick, but Dara O’Shea levelled the score with an own goal in the 86th, and Tomas Soucek won it in stoppage time.

Joao Pedro led Brighton to a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest, their first league victory in seven games.

Three minutes in, Anthony Elanga gave Forest the lead, but in the twenty-sixth, Evan Ferguson pulled Brighton even.

Pedro converted a penalty kick in the 58th minute and scored for Brighton in stoppage time in the first half.

In the 73rd minute, immediately before Forest’s penalty kick from Morgan Gibbs-White, Brighton’s Lewis Dunk was sent off after receiving two bookings for dissent in the course of sixty seconds.

At third-bottom Sheffield United, Bournemouth defeated them 3-1 thanks to two goals from Marcus Tavernier.

After Justin Kluivert’s spectacular goal, Tavernier scored twice more; Oliver McBurnie’s late goal was of no help to United.

After Florin Raducioiu and Stevan Jovetic, Kluivert is the only player to score goals in all five leagues: the Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Premier League, and La Liga.
