Chelsea is once again showing interest in signing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Chelsea Football Club has renewed its interest in Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, following an unsuccessful attempt to sign him during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea had identified the 25-year-old striker as their primary target, but talks with Napoli collapsed due to disagreements over personal terms. As a result of his wish to depart from Napoli, Osimhen was left out of the squad and eventually went on loan to Galatasaray.

The loan agreement features a break clause that permits Osimhen to depart in January if his €75 million release clause is activated, which is considerably less than Napoli’s original demand of €120 million.

According to sources close to Galatasaray, the Turkish club is not pursuing a permanent deal for Osimhen due to their inability to afford his price tag.

Osimhen is said to prefer a move to the Premier League and does not intend to remain in Turkey for an extended period. Chelsea has resumed talks with his representatives to assess his interest in transferring during the January window.

Juventus is considering Osimhen as a potential replacement for Dusan Vlahovic. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s decision to pursue him in January will hinge on Nicolas Jackson’s performance.

Other forwards, such as Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig and Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen, are also under consideration.

Osimhen has made a strong impression at Galatasaray, scoring two goals and providing four assists in just four appearances. However, his ultimate goal is to return to one of Europe’s top leagues.
