Chelsea is facing the risk of creating “irreversible toxicity” within their fanbase due to concerns over the club’s management, as highlighted by the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST).
Despite runs to Wembley in both the League Cup and FA Cup, manager Mauricio Pochettino has had a challenging first season with the Blues currently sitting in 11th place in the Premier League.
This position is a far cry from the club’s previous title-challenging status under former owner Roman Abramovich, especially considering the significant investment in new players exceeding £1 billion since the new ownership group took over less than two years ago.

Recent events, such as the League Cup final loss to Liverpool and fan dissatisfaction leading to calls for Pochettino’s dismissal, have added to the growing concerns.
The CST has expressed worries about the lack of engagement and communication from co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, raising fears of potential points deductions for financial rule breaches in the future. Additionally, the rising costs of tickets, travel, and refreshments have contributed to the overall discontent among fans, prompting the CST to call for a more effective supporter communication strategy to address these issues and prevent further alienation of the fanbase.
