Chelsea secures an impressive victory against Heidenheim in the UEFA Conference League, showcasing their dominance and advancing in the tournament.

Chelsea maintained their position at the top of the Conference League table with a tough 2-0 victory over Heidenheim, ending Heidenheim’s perfect record.

Enzo Maresca completely overhauled the team, making 10 changes to the lineup that secured a victory against Leicester in the Premier League last weekend.

However, the Blues controlled the first half, as Heidenheim goalkeeper Kevin Mueller held them off with a series of impressive saves.

Just six minutes into the second half, Chelsea managed to break the deadlock. Christopher Nkunku expertly controlled Jadon Sancho’s cross and then fired a shot into the top corner.

Nkunku, who ranks behind Nicolas Jackson in Maresca’s Premier League lineup preference, has netted five goals across four Conference League matches this season.

After falling behind, the German team stepped up their game and nearly equalized in the 69th minute when Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen made an impressive double save to thwart attempts by Paul Wanner and Leo Scienza.

The two-time European champions secured their victory with just four minutes remaining. Sancho provided his second assist of the match by setting up Mykhailo Mudryk, who finished off a one-two exchange with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall before blasting a shot into the top of the net.
