Chelsea’s coach reveals the reasons behind the decision to pass on signing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea has provided an explanation for the club’s inability to secure a deal with Victor Osimhen.

Despite their efforts, the Blues were unable to secure Osimhen’s signature on transfer deadline day.

According to reports, Chelsea made several proposals which Osimhen rejected.

Maresca stated in a press briefing after the Premier League’s 1-1 tie with Crystal Palace on Saturday that they are looking for players they can select and only under their own conditions.

“If the players are absent, it indicates that the situation was unfavorable for us.”

Inquiring about the possibility of revisiting the Osimhen situation in January, the Chelsea manager was questioned regarding any potential changes.

“We will have to wait and see, from now until January. I am not entirely sure about the number of games we have left, but as I always say, my focus is on taking it one day at a time. Therefore, let’s just wait until January.”
