Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, a veteran singer and social activist, announced that he will no longer show reverence to Nobel Laureate Prof Wole Soyinka. Charly Boy, a vocal critic of President Bola Tinubu, expressed his disapproval in a recent post on his official X handle.
This came after the National Arts Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos was renamed after Soyinka by President Tinubu in honor of his 90th birthday.
In his post, Charly Boy criticized the decision, stating that he has lost respect for Soyinka.
