A police officer from the Ajah Police Station killed a female lawyer on Christmas Day, causing chaos in the Ajah neighbourhood of Lagos State.
Bolanle Raheem is the name of the attorney.
The cop, who was with a squad of officers, departed the scene, confusing the neighbourhood as they did so.
However, the police apprehended and detained him.

Police: Avoidable Incident
Assuring the public that justice will be served, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the occurrence but called it “unfortunate and unnecessary.”
On Monday, Hundeyin wrote, “The ASP who shot and two others accompanying him have since been brought into prison.”
He added that the police officers would be transferred to Panti’s State Criminal Investigation Department for additional inquiries.
“The Lagos State Police Command extends its condolences to Barrister Bolanle Raheem’s family, friends, and coworkers. Since yesterday, the family and the Nigerian Bar Association have been in contact with CP Abiodun Alabi, the commissioner of police for the Lagos State Command, who has assured them firmly that justice will unquestionably prevail.
According to a source, the woman was attempting to perform a U-turn beneath the Ajah Bridge when the officer opened fire on her car.

The victim was reportedly struck by the bullet; she was taken to a hospital, where it was determined that she had passed away.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer, verified the event and said that the officer was being held.
“The officer engaged in the shooting is an ASP.” “He has been apprehended, jailed, and will be transported to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti,” he stated.
