Zakaria Jikantoro, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) state chairman in Niger State, has tendered his resignation.
Jikantoro gave a press conference on Friday to announce his resignation.
He also confirmed that a personal choice led to his resignation.
“It is important and required that I hold an emergency meeting and that I also update the state executive on the outcome of what happened in the meeting yesterday.
“Secondly, I humbly and freely seek to resign from my position as the APC’s Niger State chairman, on my own initiative.
This is the rationale behind my decision to ask media representatives to attend and cover this meeting, he said.
