The Commandant General of NHFSS calls on Nigerians to avoid participating in the planned national protest, emphasizing the potential for unrest and urging for peaceful resolutions.
Ambassador Joshua Osatimehin, the Commander General of Nigeria’s Hunter and Forest Security Service (NHFSS), has denied any involvement in the nationwide protest organized by certain Nigerian citizens.
While conversing with journalists about the forthcoming National Protest set to occur next month, Ambassador Osatimehin shared this statement in Abuja.
He appealed to Nigerians, particularly the youth, urging them to heed President Bola Tinubu’s plea for an end to the protests.
According to him, there is no necessity for protest in Nigeria at the moment since President Bola Tinubu has been implementing commendable policies and programs aimed at enhancing national economic growth, empowering youth, ensuring food sufficiency and guaranteeing safety. Therefore all stakeholders should support his administration’s efforts towards achieving a renewed hope agenda for Nigerians.
The Commander General stressed the importance of communication in conflict resolution and instructed NHFSS officers and personnel across the country to refrain from participating in nationwide protests while showing deference to constitutional authority.

Ambassador Osatimehin emphasized that he has instructed his officers and personnel across the 36 States of Nigeria, including FCT, along with all 774 Local Government Areas nationwide to avoid participating in any protest. Instead, they should uphold respect for constituted authority by supporting formal security agencies in upholding law and order within the country as NHFSS is recognized for its peacefulness and commitment to protecting lives as well as properties belonging to all Nigerian citizens.
He stated that NHFSS will persist in supporting the endeavors of other official security organizations to safeguard Nigeria’s sanctity and territorial integrity against criminals and disloyal individuals who aim to disrupt national peace, unity, and development.
He urged all those involved in organizing the national protest to abandon the idea and instead, back President Bola Tinubu’s leadership in propelling Nigeria towards progress.
He observed that fulfilling the aspirations of the country’s forefathers necessitated teamwork and backing from everyone.
The Commander General encouraged politicians to prioritize the nation’s interests over their own, and expressed optimism that with collaborative efforts and prayers from Nigerians, the country would soon surmount its economic and security obstacles.
