CDS promises to end insecurity in Kaduna, saying “This Will Soon Be Over”
“Everything that is occurring right now is just a matter of time, and I know that with the course of action we are taking, this will soon be over.”
The insecurity that is now upsetting the calm in Kaduna State will soon be a thing of the past, according to General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, who further emphasised that the Armed Forces are determined to put an end to the unpleasant scenario.
When he visited the governor on Friday, Uba Sani of Kaduna State made an appeal for the Special Forces to stay longer in the ongoing fight against banditry and kidnapping as well as expanding Operation Safe Heaven in Southern Kaduna, Birnin-Gwari, and other troubled areas of the state. He made this commitment in response to that appeal.
The Chief of Defence Staff met with Governor Sani in the Kaduna State Government House as part of his non-kinetic strategy for addressing the lingering insecurity in the state.
In Zangon Kataf, Kaura, Kauru, Sanga, as well as Birnin-Gwari, Giwa, and Igabi Local Government Areas, Governor Sani claimed the ongoing insecurity will be addressed with the military assistance he is demanding.
In response to the governor’s request, CDS Musa stated, “All that is happening right now is simply a question of time, and I know that with the manner we are approaching it, this will soon be over. We’ll sit down and discuss how there was once robbery and other crime, but now everyone is enjoying the tranquilly.
“We all grew up knowing how peaceful Kaduna has been, and now the difficult time we are experiencing, I believe it’s just temporary and we are going to get through, and I assure you that the Armed Forces will continue to give you all the necessary supports required,” the statement reads.
The CDS emphasised the need for Nigerians to assume responsibility for solving the nation’s problems, noting that everyone has a part to play in addressing the insecurity issue, not just Kaduna, the military, or the police.
However, Governor Sani gave the Chief of Defence Staff assurances about his administration’s dedication to maintaining the friendly relationship and engagement with the security services as well as its attempts to forge interstate cooperation in the struggle against terrorism and banditry in Kaduna State.
Kaduna State, like other states in the North-West zone, has grown weary of the persistent threat of insecurity posed by terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and cattle rustlers.
As a result, the enemies have caused the loss of several lives, destruction of livelihoods, and the displacement of thousands of people from their homes.
