Carjacker with notorious reputation apprehended again after escaping Katsina prison
Two prisoners who broke free from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Katsina in October have been arrested by the Nigeria Correctional Services, NCoS, Katsina Command.
Shortly after their escape, Ibrahim Muhammad-Lawal, also known as Abba Kala, was captured, and on Tuesday in Kaduna, Musa Isah was captured.

Remember that Abba Kala was on trial for multiple carjackings and robberies that occurred in Katsina, Plateau, and other nearby states?
According to authorities, the renowned car Kala apparently used his phone to plan a successful car-snatching operation while he was being held in custody.
The command spokesman, ASC Najib Idris, confirmed the two suspects’ rearrest on Wednesday in Katsina.
Following the prompt formation of a search party in cooperation with sister security services, one of the fugitives, Lawal Ibrahim Muhammad-Lawal, popularly known as “Abba Kala,” was apprehended.
“The Service used both overt and covert intelligence collection in addition to its e-tracking technique to recover the last one.
The command spokesman said, “This led to the recapture of the second escapee, Musa Isah, on December 19, in Kaduna metropolis.”
He claimed that the search team’s efforts to apprehend the fugitives again had been praised by Haliru Nababa, the controller general of corrections.
Through Muhammad Abdulmumin, the controller of the command, Mr. Nababa announced that he would step up efforts to safeguard every detention centre in the nation.
