Mr. Haruna Ubandoma, the acting director general of the Joseph Ewuga/Sulaiman Ibrahim gubernatorial campaign organisation in Nasarawa state under the Labour party (LP), has been fired for offences involving incompetence and disobedience.

In a statement released on Thursday in Lafia, Mr. Ewuga, a candidate for governor, called for his dismissal. He said that Ubandoma was fired as a result of the campaign council’s inquiry, which found that he had engaged in serious misconduct, disobeyed legal orders, lacked trustworthiness, lacked administrative acumen, among other things.

According to Ewuga, the fired DG was on probation before receiving a substantive position; nonetheless, he failed the litmus test, which led to his dismissal.

The gubernatorial candidate also stated that after three months of his probationary appointment, Ubandoma was unable to even provide a schedule of events that would have served as a guideline for the party’s campaign.

Under the name of his campaign organisation, he urged the public to quit doing business with Ubandoma and warned anyone who did so was doing so at their own risk.

The governorship candidate refuted rumours that he had withdrew from the March 11 race, calling them untrue and the product of his critics.

He claimed that his goal in running for office was to win and lift Nasarawa State out of the current state of backwardness caused by many years of poor leadership.

In the upcoming election, he urged LP supporters to focus on electing Peter Obi and other LP candidates while ignoring the antics of political jobbers.
