The Canadian High Commission in Nigeria announced on Thursday that the public could still apply for visas at the locations in Lagos and Abuja.
Following the fire outbreak on Monday that damaged a portion of the high commission building in Abuja, the mission released this statement.

Applications are still being processed for customers of Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The visa application centres in Abuja and Lagos are still open notwithstanding the closure of the Canadian High Commission in Abuja.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), an explosion occurred on Monday at a portion of the Canadian High Commission building in Abuja, killing two persons, including a local employee, and injuring two more.
The source of the explosion will be investigated in cooperation with local authorities, according to a statement released by Global Affairs Canada on Monday.
