According to a source, Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, would hold his Rivers campaign at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

The report, which came after the state government barred Atiku and the PDP from using the Rivers Stadium, was characterised by the institution as fake.

Dr. Sam Kpenu, UNIPORT’s public relations officer, stated in a statement on Thursday that the university was not a rallying point.

“Management has not authorised any political campaign rally at the university,” the statement read. The university is not a place where political campaigns are held.

“We are not considering giving the Atiku Campaign Council access to its facility.”

The public is therefore urged to disregard this willful fabrication intended to damage the university’s enviable image because it is just the product of the author’s wild imagination.

The institution issues a warning to the perpetrator of this lie, advising them to stop immediately or face the wrath of the law. Law enforcement agencies have been notified of this problem and are taking necessary action in the interim.
