Divine Ikubor, better known by her stage name Rema, a Nigerian singer, is the first African artist to have a number-one single on the Billboard Overall US Radio Chart.
This week’s number one hit on the charts was his song “Calm Down,” which featured American singer Selena Gomez.
In order to accomplish the unprecedented feat, the song received 97.68 million listens on American radios over the examined week.
The most played song on American radio stations is now “Calm Down,” surpassing Miley Cyrus’ massive smash tune “Flowers.”
On the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the song is presently at number three. Next week, it’s expected to bump ‘Flowers’ down to number two.
