JUST IN: CAF Investigates Super Eagles’ Ordeal at Libyan Airport

CAF has launched an investigation into the Super Eagles’ 14-hour ordeal at a Libyan airport, following complaints of mistreatment and delays.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has expressed serious concern about the difficult situation encountered by Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, at an airport in Libya.

The team and their officials were reportedly left stranded in distressing conditions for several hours, sparking outrage from both fans and other officials.

In a statement released on Monday afternoon and available on the CAF website, the federation announced that it is swiftly taking action to engage with Libyan and Nigerian authorities to resolve the matter.

CAF also stated that its Disciplinary Board has initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the circumstances and uphold accountability.

CAF stressed that the well-being of teams and officials is a top priority, promising to take suitable measures based on the results of the ongoing investigation.

The title was: “CAF Seriously Addresses the Concerning and Unacceptable Treatment of the Nigerian National Football Team (‘Super Eagles’) at a Libyan Airport.”

The Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) has reached out to the authorities in Libya and Nigeria after learning that the Nigerian National Football Team, known as the ‘Super Eagles’, along with their technical team, were left stranded for several hours under distressing conditions at an airport. It is alleged that they had been instructed by Libyan authorities to land there.

“The issue has been submitted to the CAF Disciplinary Board for investigation, and suitable measures will be implemented against those who breached the CAF Statutes and Regulations,” it stated.
