Nigerian champions Enyimba FC fall to a 2-0 loss against Egypt’s Al Masry in the CAF Confederation Cup, facing an uphill battle in the tournament.
On Wednesday night in Ismaila, Enyimba suffered a 2-0 defeat to Egypt’s Al Masry during their CAF Confederation Cup Group D match.
After five minutes of play, Mahmoud Hamada scored the first goal for the home team.
Hamada secured the victory for Al Masry with a goal just 14 minutes before the final whistle.
For most of the game, Enyimba was unable to pose a threat to the home team’s defense.
Goalkeeper Ani Ozoemena made several outstanding saves to maintain a more respectable scoreline.
On Sunday, December 8, Enyimba is set to host the defending champions Zamalek in their upcoming game of the competition.
