A 10-person shortlist has been announced for the 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award, featuring Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
On their official X platform, the Confederation of African Football announced the nominees on Friday.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, two weeks ago, CAF unveiled a 30-man shortlist for the honour.
Before the award ceremony, the list is anticipated to be further whittled down to just three.

After an incredible 2022–23 season for Napoli, Osimhen is the clear favourite to win the prize.
The Nigerian international helped the Partenopei win their first league championship in more than thirty years with 26 goals in 32 league games.
Five additional goals were scored by the 24-year-old in the UEFA Champions League.
With ten goals, the striker led all scorers in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign.
On the shortlist are Frank Zambo-Anguissa, Vincent Aboubacar, Mohamed Salah, Riyad Mahrez, and Achraf Hakimi, his teammates from Napoli.
Sadio Mane, Yassine Bounou, Sofyan Amrabat, and Yousef En-Nesyri are the other nominees.
On December 11, 2023, the City of Marrakech, Morocco, will host the CAF Awards Gala.
