On Thursday, CAF made the final shortlist public via its official X Twitter.

Achraf Hakimi, a defender for Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco, and Mohamed Salah, a forward for Liverpool and Egypt, are among contenders for this coveted prize.
Sadio Mane, the winner from the previous year, was left off the final shortlist.
The clear choice to replace the Senegalese is Osimhen.
With 26 goals last season, the 24-year-old guided Napoli to their first Serie A championship in thirty-three years.
Since Kanu Nwankwo was crowned the greatest player on the continent in 1999, the attacker is attempting to become the first Nigerian to win the accolade.
On Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco, the CAF Awards Gala will reveal the winner.
