Cabal Allegations: Tinubu Restricts Gbajabiamila and Others from Performing Duties – Showunmi

Political analyst Segun Showunmi claims President Tinubu’s inner circle prevents key officials, including Femi Gbajabiamila, from effectively carrying out their responsibilities.

Segun Showunmi, who previously served as a spokesperson for Atiku’s presidential campaign, has stated that President Bola Tinubu restricts his appointees from performing their duties effectively.

Showunmi believes that there is no cabal within Tinubu’s administration, contrary to the assumptions held by some segments of the public.

Recently, Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Youths and Sports, confirmed once again the presence of a dangerous cabal within the Tinubu administration.

Dalung claimed that a dangerous cabal is swaying the decisions made by Tinubu’s administration.

The former minister asserted that the members of the cabal were motivated by selfish and personal interests.

Showunmi informed TVC that Tinubu operates as a cabal by himself, handling everything personally. He also mentioned that the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, is not given the opportunity to perform his duties effectively.

“The issue with Tinubu’s presidency isn’t primarily about a cabal. The real concern I observe is that he has constructed his administration in such a way that it prevents the individuals he’s appointed from effectively carrying out their responsibilities,” he stated.

If he had simply let Femi Gbajabiamila, his chief of staff, perform the duties of that role effectively… people claimed he had a cabal. But who is part of a cabal under Tinubu? Bola Tinubu acts as his own decision-maker; no one else can shoulder the blame or responsibility. Other leaders should empower their chiefs of staff to be strong and capable in their roles. Instead, he [Tinubu] has diminished Gbajabiamila’s influence so much that it almost seems like he’s portraying himself as an alpha male who knows everything—unfortunately treating the presidency like a gilded cage.

“You’ll be sitting around while the people you don’t empower struggle to get things done. The situation is intensifying. Among the Yoruba, I assure you, tensions are rising. It’s crucial that you address your team before it’s too late.”
