The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor and incumbent Ahmadu Fintiri received 421,524 votes, while Ahmed received 390,275.
Aishatu Ahmed, also known as Binani, who is running for governor of Adamawa State on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that he supports the state’s governorship election being declared as inconclusive.
Due to the margin of votes, Prof. Muhammadu Mele of the University of Maiduguri, the state collation officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), ruled the election to be inconclusive.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor and incumbent Ahmadu Fintiri received 421,524 votes, while Ahmed received 390,275.
“Elections were not conducted in 47 wards, impacting 69 voting places,” he said. Hence, this gives us a margin of 31,249 percent. 37,016 PVCs were collected overall in locations where elections were not held.
On Friday, Ahmed appeared live on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he expressed support for the decision and said that 16 of the state’s 21 local government areas (LGAs) had seen violence and irregularities.
She asserted, “My opinion is that the INEC REC did extremely well by calling the result inconclusive, and my arguments are straightforward.”
“Everyone who witnessed or kept track of the election in Adamawa State is aware that it was characterised by violence, rigging, excessive voting, and a wide range of other abnormalities.
As far as I’m concerned, the statistics that were removed were fabricated.
She said that a number of the BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System) devices had been disregarded, enabling overvoting and intimidating election officials in various areas.

You’ll learn that more than 30 persons must have cast votes if, for example, the BVAS only accredited 10 people. It is one of the anomalies,” the speaker continued.
The only way, in Ahmed’s opinion, for the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) to “come out clean,” was for that outcome to be deemed inconclusive.
She contended, using the Election Act, that INEC had the authority to examine the results within seven days to determine if any declarations were made under duress or where it had failed to adhere to the electoral rules and regulations.
She responded in the negative when asked if she was nervous about going back to the state for a special election.
The APC candidate stated: “I’m never frightened, but all I’m requesting is that INEC should perform a review on said local governments so that it would bring out the genuine statistics for all candidates.”
All I’m asking is that, and once it’s done, we’ll be safe and dry at home and can return to the pitch with assurance.
Ahmed said she feels wonderful and is pleased about the prospect of being the first elected female governor.
“I’m not carrying this out for Binani, or even for myself. Every girl child in this nation is the reason I’m doing it. That is intended for all Nigerian women, she said.
